Our Doctor
Emma Otieno, DPM, MPH

Dr. Emma Otieno was born in Kisumu, Kenya, and raised in Arlington, TX. She attended the University of Missouri-Kansas City and graduated with dual bachelors’ degrees in Biology and Chemistry. Dr. Otieno then went on to pursue her graduate studies in the fields of medicine and public health at New York College of Podiatric Medicine and Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai in New York, NY. Dr. Otieno has always been passionate about education and strives to share her love of it as an academic tutor in her local community.
Dr. Otieno is currently a 1st-year resident at the New York College of Podiatric Medicine/Metropolitan Hospital Center. As a resident, she aspires to become a proficient, skilled, and caring Podiatrist. In the near future, she plans to utilize her knowledge and skills to provide healthcare and public health services to the underserved population in her community.
Her long-term goal is to open a healthcare center in her birth country of Kenya and continue to provide healthcare services and health education to underserved populations.
In her spare time, Dr. Otieno loves to spend time with her family and friends. She enjoys watching movies, drawing, reading, and playing recreational sports. Her all-time favorite television show is called “The Simpsons,” favorite board game is monopoly, favorite food is rice and pinto beans, and cannot help her love of chocolate. Dr. Otieno is also very competitive and, like most people, loves to win. She aspires to be a well-rounded individual and like Eleanor Roosevelt, Dr. Otieno believes that “the future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams.”
